Tara Creme - composer

Alongside her own concert work, Tara has collaborated with a range of filmmakers, artists and theatre directors from the UK and beyond, composing original music for a diverse range of award-winning work.

Tara’s music for concert is increasingly being performed and has received premieres from a range of musicians including Britten Sinfonia, Onyx Brass, Hebrides Ensemble, Charles Owen and Selwyn College Chapel Choir.

Tara is particularly known for her music for film; recent work includes Havana Marking’s Undercover, Exposing the Far Right and Jeanie Finlay’s Your Fat Friend.

For her own projects, Tara has received funding from the Arts Council, Vaughan Williams Foundation and Help Musicians, and is currently developing an oratorio for Britten Sinfonia and Helen Charlston, and an album for prepared piano and electronics with Siwan Rhys.

Developing an Oratorio

Thanks to Arts Council DYCP funding, I am developing an oratorio about Joan of Arc, for soloists, choir and chamber orchestra.

I am working with Britten Sinfonia and mezzo soprano Helen Charlston , and taking text from the evidence from Joan of Arc’s trials.
